There is so much chatter, so many dire warnings that a person could\nbegin to think that the world is coming to an end. So many fears and so much\ntrembling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nCambodia life is as uncertain as everywhere else. For many it is a time of\nlosing your income, losing your jobs \u2013 of tightening your belts \u2013 it\u2019s a time\nof worry over things where they have no control. Despite all this, they know\nhow to live with things they do have control over. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Kampong Channang Sak Pov a\nmother of four started saving with Tabitha a year ago. She had a lifelong dream\n\u2013 a dream which would put food on the table and food for sale \u2013 not just any\nfood but food that is grown organically. It took her a year to save to buy all\nshe needed \u2013 a year of planning and buying step by step all that she needed to\nbegin her small organic farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That dream has become a reality. She worked hard \u2013 she dreamt hard. Her vision is happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"523\" height=\"581\" src=\"https:\/\/jonesnz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/tabitha.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jonesnz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/tabitha.png 523w, https:\/\/jonesnz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/tabitha-270x300.png 270w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 523px) 100vw, 523px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nCovid 19 epidemic is in Cambodia. Sak Pov has heard of it as have all our\nfamilies. They know to keep a social distance and to wash their hands. But the\ndifference is that their dreams have not stopped. They don\u2019t have social\nsecurity or unemployment insurance \u2013 nor do they have access to good medical\ncare. What they do have is dreams and savings and the vision and strength to\ncarry out those dreams. They know how to save \u2013 they know how to live day by\nday despite all threats to their well-being \u2013 they know how to make their\ndreams happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thank\nmy God for the lessons that people like Sak Pov teach me \u2013 to be content in all\nthings \u2013 to have dreams and to save and work to make those dreams come true. I\nthank my God for each of you \u2013 who stand with people like Sak Pov for whom the\nCovid virus is a threat but not a threat large enough to stop living and\ndreaming and saving. I wish all of you to stay safe in this difficult time \u2013 to\ndream and save and make your dreams come true.
