Lockdown Day 13

A picture essay for today’s walk. Apart from that I was working.

Lockdown Day 12

OK, really running out of puff on the blog by now. Was a quiet day with work for me to do. News today that we will see out the full 4 weeks at Level 4 and there is a new cluster in Christchurch around a rest home, hope they are all OK. They moved a […]

Lockdown Day 11

A Sunday with everyone at home so a very sociable day from the now traditional boules to the jigsaw, the minecraft and the walks. Also we got invited next door (same bubble!) for dinner and a game night.

Lockdown Day 10

Note to self, avoid the temptation to laze around in bed until mid-morning. I just feel worse by adding guilt to the general mix. So I got up at 8 had breakfast and watered the garden (still looking at a drought situation here). I tackled an area of overgrown gully where I’m thinking of laying […]

Lockdown Day 9

I don’t know about everyone else but I’m feeling kind of “flat” today. Hopefully it’s the bottom and I will get some energy back tomorrow. I’ve put on 2 kilos via snacks and beer which isn’t helping. I have found in the past that forcing myself to go out and do some heavy garden work […]

Lockdown Day 8

The day started slowly with some boules but that didn’t last long. Back inside to watch Ice Age on TV. I had a video meet with James and some of his friends but had to break off to test some other VC solution which our Moodle partner is trying to roll out. Some other bits […]

Lockdown Day 7

This morning’s walk took us to Pirongia (Alexandra) cenetery which is on a nearby hill. As these things go it is a pretty spot. Hania and Ana spent a lot of time looking at the individual graves, their ornaments and messages. It also has a fine view of kakepuku ( swollen stomach of Kahu ) […]

Lockdown Day 6

A quiet day today. We went for a long walk around the village with Ana who was pretty determined not to enjoy it but cheered up when we went to the shop for ice cream. A little bit of Minecraft in the afternoon and making some progress on the jigsaw puzzle. Police cruising around looking […]

Lockdown Day 5

They say it’s something like bereavement which may seem like a very silly comment to anyone who has recently lost a loved one. This bubble living that is. For sure there are mood swings, a sense of loss, some hysteria perhaps and many false notes of gaiety. I’m thinking about chalk marks on the wall […]

Lockdown Day 4

Today is a sad day for us, a Kiwi has died from Corona virus. Our thoughts are with the family. Following on from yesterday I would like to know who these ladies are with my mother who is on the right. I’m guessing it’s from the same series as yesterday? Today we started with a […]
